How sweet (tooth) it is!
Twisted Metal–the small-screen adaptation of the popular vehicular combat video game–will return for Season 2 on Peacock, according to a report on Deadline. Check out the video announcement on this page.
The half-hour horror-comedy show–which does not yet have a debut date for its second season–kicked off on Peacock back in July. Led by showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith, the series is based on an original storyline by Smith, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
The cast includes Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Neve Campbell, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughns and Lou Beatty Jr. In addition, pro wrestler Samoa Joe plays Sweet Tooth–with Will Arnett voicing the character.
In Twisted Metal, John Doe (Mackie), a milkman with amnesia, is offered a chance at a better life, “but only if he can deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”
With the help of a car thief (Beatriz), Doe faces off with marauders driving vehicles of destruction–“including a deranged clown driving an ice cream truck.”
