“I’ll catch this bird for you, but it ain’t gonna be easy. Bad fish.”
As if there were ever any doubt, people have once again proved that they still love Jaws. On Friday, NBC aired a special presentation Jaws in honor of the film’s 50th anniversary. A whopping total of 3.261 million people tuned into watch as Bruce the shark terrorizes beachgoers of Amity Island.
The special presentation of the horror classic beat out the Fox News holy trinity of Jesse Watters Primetime, Gutfeld!, and Hannity, (too bad they weren’t on the Orca) while also besting 20/20, Celebrity Jeopardy!, and WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
The film, which was directed by Steven Spielberg, became the first summer blockbuster as it enthralled moviegoers on its way to earning $477.9 million at the box office. Jaws starred Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary and Murray Hamilton.
